This award is presented annually to the volunteer (non-athlete) who has shown outstanding commitment to Delaware County Special Olympics. The recipient must be an active participant in the program for at least 3 years, and show the qualities exhibited by Ric throughout his Special Olympics’ career. These qualities include but are not limited to dedication, dignity, selflessness, respect, leadership, to Special Olympics…their athletes and families. Please download the 2nd Annual Ric Koehler Award 2016 nomination ballot and send it in for your nominee.
Protective Behavior Training Required
All volunteers are asked to log on to the Protective Behavior site and complete the on-line training. The link is below. For the protection of our athletes, this should be the first training each volunteer take. Protective Behavior Site
Athletes can access application forms and completion instructions on this site.
Please remember to mail the original to the program address, and your head coach should only receive a copy in order to participate.
Applications that are not on file at the Special Olympics Office will disqualify the athlete for both the training and this years events. If you have questions, view the medical instruction page or email us. Enrollment Package
